The PhotoPlus6 program works in Windows Vista and does have a good range of functions akin to the Photo Editor, which I used to use with WindowsXP.
However it should be noted that .bmp and .jpg files edited with this program get changed to .Spp format which cannot be opened by other programs and which do not have thumbnail previews in the icons. The upshot is that if you wish to upload pictures to websites they are rejected as an unrecognised/unsupported format, and if you want to e-mail them to friends, they can only be viewed if the friend also downloads this program. Since this is what I wanted to be able to do, the program is, sadly, useless to me:-(

All you need to do to obtain images for web-pages or emailling ot to use the “export” tool.

Photoplus needs the .spp format in order to save the things you may have done to your photo, e.g. added layers, which can’t be saved in jpg, bmp, etc.

This program is great! Sadly it doesn’t work with Windows Vista, can anyone recommend me a good photo editing software like Photoplus 6 which works with Vista?

i don’t get it, why doesn’t it work with vista? what can i use instead? someone help please, as i used to use this all the time on my old laptop and now i cant? OMG!

The download is for PhotoPlus SE 1.0, which is loaded with pop-ups that tell me to upgrade every time I try to do something, and it wastes a good chunk of time having to get through them. Is there any place I can actually get a legit version of 6.0 instead of the SE version?
