Free OCR Software

Free OCR Software is a complete scan and OCR program including the Windows compiled Tesseract free ocr engine also known as a Tesseract GUI. this free ocr software includes a Windows installer and It is very simple to use and supports multi-page tiff’s, Adobe PDF and fax documents as well as most image types including compressed Tiff’s which the Tesseract engine on its own cannot read. It now has Twain and WIA scanning.

Free OCR for scanned PDF is freeware and you can do what you like with it including commercial use. The included Tesseract free OCR engine is distributed under the Apache V2.0 license.

Great software. And its free to boot. Tried several optical character recog software both trial versions of paid programs and this software is really outstanding. It even beat the OCR program which came with my scanner. Is there a commercial version with more features that I can buy. Please email me back

I need to scan a text page from Lexus printer. I got an error message to download OCR software; this is why I am trying to see if it will work.

Thanks for a nice and helpful program!
I just wonder if it’s possible to get it work in swedish.
Did’nt find it thou there seems to be an option.
