BEARSHARE sucks, i have had it paid and unpaid subscriptions, but since it updated, i get all kinds of error messages, i called them, if i can find the phone numbre again, i will post it hear. it will not let me delete it, i am on my 47th email with them and they keep sending back the same generic message, to redownload it and then look for an application file that does not exist, it is slowing my entire system down. they would not let me speak to a supervisor because i stopped paying them, why would i pay for something that is buggering up my system and can get no support???? My email is stormeyinfla@yahoo.com if there is anyone who can help!
thanks,

GetAdaptersAddresses error message pops up when I try to run the Bearshare 6.x. OS:MS WIN2K sp3. I reinstall the OS thinking I had some spyware. Had the same results when I re-installed Bearshare. Jim must be correct. The new Bearshear was not made for WIN2K. I will keep researching. I might attempt to use it on my WIN XP box. If anyone find out an answer, email me at tyrone_bak@hotmail.com.

I had the same GetAdaptersAddresses error message on my desktop running WIN2K, which prevented the version 6.1.0.42623 update of BearShare from opening. Following LeSean's suggestion, I tried replacing the iphlpapi.dll file first from a third-party site, and did so successfully, but it did not fix the error problem. Then I went to the WINNT/system folder and copied the same .dll file to the WINNT/system32 folder. Still, it didn't resolve the problem. AVG VirusScan came up clean, AdAware found some seemingly neglible items and Spybot found the usual adware, but nothing of apparent significance.

From the info I can find about the new version, it just seems that BearShare is not supported on the WIN2K OS, and that according to the documenation available it is only supported on XP Home and Professional.

If anyone has any contrary or supplemental information, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Theres nothing wrong with Bearshare. No one is trying to get over on you. You can contact them by EMAIL and they'll usually reply within an hour or 2. Oh .. and for you guys who's Bearshare won't connect .. go to a search engine and type in iphlpapi.dll and download from one of the sites. U can leave it right there on the desktop (or put it in c:\win\system32 folder) .. you can thank me later. I'll probably never see this website again

this program is fraud. I was told one price but once I gave them my credit card information they billed me over $50 dollars and then when I tried to use to program I was prompted when an error message saying we encountered a problem..sorry for your convenience..they didn't have a contact phone number , but they didn,t have a problem getting my money off my credit card.. I am "pissed Off" and I want my damn money back..

I have installed Bearshare on my computer, but I cannot open it. I get this message: "The procedure entry point GetAdaptersAddresses could not be located in the dynamic link library iphlpapi.dll". What can I do and how can I fix this so that I can use Bearshare?
